How I Spent My Summer Vacation

So, where have we been? Recent to visitors to SI will have noticed that we were gone for a while. It turns out that some script kiddies somewhere hit us with what is called a SQL Injection Attack. You don't need to care what it is, just that it worked, doggone it. I thought I had tightened things up more than that.

The good news is that we are back.

The bad news is that if you tried to register in the past few weeks, our database has probably forgotten about you. We had to restore from a backup from some time ago, and several of you will have lost your accounts. Please reregister and welcome back to the game.

In that same vein, if you've posted anything, like Ost's chapter for Terra Rex... also gone. Sorry Ost. SI is inadvertently introducing you into the wonderful world of rewriting. Please resubmit your stuff and we'll all pretend this whole thing didn't happen.

To the hackers, let me just give a big shout out and a thank you. We at StoryImprov are honored to be considered significant enough to waste valuable bot time poking for the soft spots in our defenses. Congrats on the find. We're flattered. SI Pwn3d. Haxors Suxors.

Anyway, we are back to a game-on status. Sorry for the hiccup.
