Once Upon A Time - #1

While the stories on this site are engaging, they are, on some days, too engaging. I can’t always come home from my job and muster the creativity to put together a worthwhile chapter. If you’ve been a reader of any of my work, you might notice that this does not often stop me.
Anyway, we clearly have room for a new game.
I call it “Once Upon A Time”. It is easy to play – far easier than writing a full chapter. All you have to do is continue the story by adding the next sentence. I’ll start out with the first one, and you can use the comment thread to move the story forward.

In the early morning, hours before sunrise, everything changed.

Her eyes gave away her anxiety and he looked down at his glass to avoid her stare. "Do you," he paused, tracing the rim of the wine glass with one finger, feeling his own anxiety rising, then clearing his throat he started again, "Do you believe it's possible these, images, aren't just dreams?"
