Sometimes, better writing is less writing.

When I was young, I was a big fan of the comic strip Garfield. I even wrote a letter to Jim Davis to let him know. He wrote me back, and for years I held on to my genuine Garfield stationary type-written form letter.

Now that I’m older, I’m not such a fan. Nothing against Mr. Davis, but I've grown out of his target market.

As it turns out, I am a new fan of Garfield Minus Garfield.

As introduced on the site, “Garfield Minus Garfield is a site dedicated to removing Garfield from the Garfield comic strips in order to reveal the existential angst of a certain young Mr. Jon Arbuckle. It is a journey deep into the mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against loneliness and depression in a quiet American suburb.”
